Muneera Mollagee is a Muslim, South African author from a mixed family. She has been writing her entire life, since before she knew how to spell. Writing is the only thing she has been truly passionate about and the only thing she has actually wanted to do with her life. Being able to publish books is a lifelong dream. She has published two books, Mehndi Tattoos, a collection of poems and now, Stars and Scars, a collection of short stories. Muneera is currently 26 and unmarried, but has rescued and adopted four cats alongside her younger sister. She is one of five children and her parents are still both alive and still together. Her parents have been married for 31 years now and without their love, support and encouragement, she would not be the woman, or author, she is today.
What is this book about?
Stars and Scars is a collection of thirteen short stories that touch on mental health, depression, loss, grief and mourning. This anthology contains horrors, psychological thrillers, dark comedies, murder mysteries and gory slashers. Though morbid, this macabre collection is backlit with the power of cleansing, healing, growth, letting go and moving on. Stars and Scars is not just about the dark side of existence: ultimately, these thirteen short stories are about survival.
